How to set up a smart alarm clock on mi. Smart speaker-alarm clock Xiaomi Mi Alarm Clock – review

Since the appearance of the first mobile phones a built-in alarm clock has become an integral part of such devices. At the same time, despite the rapid progress in the field of electronics development, the overall functionality of the program has remained virtually unchanged. How to turn on an alarm clock on Xiaomi?

The easiest and most convenient way is to be on the desktop of your smartphone, click on the clock widget and instantly go to the alarm settings.

In the window that opens, activate an existing alarm clock or create a new one by clicking on the “+” button in the lower right corner.

After the required time has been set, the ringtone and repetition frequency have been selected (one-time, on weekdays, weekends, on certain days of the week or constantly), click on the “OK” button in the upper right corner of the screen. If you wish, you can simultaneously activate several alarms at once, which will go off at different times of the day.

For example, sometimes you may notice that under the clock in the alarm settings the message “Alarm sound is disabled” is displayed. This inscription says that when the alarm goes off, instead of sound there will only be a vibration alert, unless, of course, it is also disabled. To turn on the sound, just press any volume button and expand the full menu in the sound settings menu that appears. After this, increase the volume near the alarm slider to the required level.

Another way is to select “Sound and vibration” in the settings menu and set the alarm volume there.

If there is no clock widget on your desktop, you can get to the alarm clock by going to the “Clock” application.

Hi all! Today there will be a review of another product from Xiaomi. Continuing the topic smart home the company released the Mi Music device Alarm Clock, which combines an alarm clock and a Bluetooth speaker, while promising us a comfortable fall asleep and a calm, relaxed awakening. Appearance, operation and disassembly of the device, below the cut.

Since recently I began to unconsciously turn off the alarm clock in my sleep and continue to sleep (fortunately, my comrades from the brigade wake me up on time), it was decided to do something about it. At first I tried to put the phone before going to bed, away from myself, so that in the process of getting out of bed to turn off the alarm clock, I would wake up, but since often before going to bed there is a need to watch YouTube and other information sites, the method of waking up did not really catch on. The only option was a separate living device, i.e. an alarm clock. By chance, I had the opportunity to try out a new device from Xiaomi, so I’ll try to talk about it in detail next.
Let's start with...

Packaging and appearance

The device comes in a snow-white box. The front side shows the alarm clock itself, the back specifications and other brief information about the manufacturer. Everything looks pretty nice, the company has grown and faceless cardboard boxes are a thing of the past.

After removing the lid of the box, we are greeted by the device itself, which is firmly located in the recess.

The alarm clock kit consists of microUSB cable for synchronization and charging, as well as instructions in Chinese. The alarm clock itself is wrapped in film for greater safety during transportation.

The cable itself is a meter long and is made of very high quality. The manufacturer equips its power banks with similar cables.

The device itself is designed in the style of a classic alarm clock. Made of white, glossy plastic, the front part is covered with gray fabric. Under the fabric there are LEDs to indicate the time, as well as a 45 mm speaker.

On the sides there are grids of passive radiators.

The only column control element is located at the top. It is a large button with a matte surface that rotates around its axis with a characteristic tactile feedback.

The back is covered with matte plastic and houses a not-so-successful micro USB type A connector and hole in which the reset button is hidden.

There is a rubber lining on the bottom for better stability of the alarm clock. The charging current and various certificates are also indicated.

We've finished the inspection, now let's get to work.

Device operation

Since the alarm clock can be used without a phone, we will first consider this mode of operation.
We turn on the device by holding the button, after which a Chinese girl greets us, recommends connecting the phone for synchronization and the blue LED under the grid begins to blink, but we’ll skip that for now.

The transition between modes is carried out using a double click and is accompanied by prompts in Chinese. The first mode is time setting. By turning the button, we adjust the hours and minutes (turn clockwise for minutes, counterclockwise for hours). Unfortunately, the time format is 12 hour, that is, only numbers from 1 to 12 are displayed; a crescent moon icon is used to indicate evening time. Having set the time, save the settings by pressing the button once.

The second mode is setting the alarm clock, which is carried out identically. When saving an alarm, a bell icon appears. The third mode, selecting an alarm melody, there are three standard melodies (big ben, cuckoo, standard alarm sound). Fourth mode, removing the alarm clock.

Now let's move on to the operation of the alarm clock paired with the phone.
To get started, go to the 4pda website and download the Russified MiHome application. Turn on Bluetooth on your phone, go to the application and add a new device. We synchronize and wait for the download of plugins for the device to work. We open the tab and see the Chinese language everywhere, naturally most users will not like it, although everything there is intuitive.

Therefore, we go again to 4pda and download Russified plugins for our device. We disable auto-updating of plugins in the application, replace native plugins with modernized ones. Let's use it!
Everything is written in detail in the header on 4pda, so replacing plugins will not be difficult. It will be easiest for users with rooted devices (download, replace), for those who do not have root, I recommend the method using Java.

On home page The device is displayed, the current charge, the present time, the selected alarm time, and it is also possible to add an alarm, or switch to night mode. Night mode is designed to help you fall asleep faster with your favorite music; in it you can select the necessary tracks and the duration of their playback. It is also possible to set a music composition from the phone's memory to the alarm melody.
To turn off the alarm while it is going off, you need to press the device button twice. When pressed once, the alarm will go off again after 9 minutes and so on until you wake up and turn off correctly.

There is also a general menu in the alarm clock application. In it you can force synchronize the time, set the alarm signal (the number of repetitions and the interval between them), turn on the evening time and alarm indicator, as well as instructions on English language.

Turning off the evening time indicator and the alarm clock is necessary, first of all, in order not to get confused about the time at night, because at some distance from the alarm clock at night, it is difficult to make out where the indicators are and where the minutes are.

In addition to the alarm and clock functions, the device can play music directly from the phone using the Bluetooth function. It has a 5W speaker and two passive radiators (a diffuser without a voice coil and a magnetic system) for higher quality sound. Music control is possible both directly from the phone and the alarm clock itself. Pressing once pauses playback, turning the button changes the volume, pressing and turning switches the track. Because before that portable speakers I only had ones from cheap “no-name” manufacturers, so I was very surprised by the sound coming from the alarm clock. Clean, loud, moderate bass, does not bounce around the table. You can turn on your favorite music at any time while at home and go about your business.
To resynchronize your phone with the alarm clock (after coming home from work), you need to hold down the button on the device for 5 seconds. The device does not connect automatically, apparently due to energy saving.

It is possible to connect the alarm clock to a computer or other Android devices without using the application, thanks to the Bluetooth connection. It is detected as a headset and performs the function of audio output.

Sound comparison.

Working hours

The manufacturer claims 8 hours in music playback mode or 15 days in alarm mode. In mixed mode (60-90 minutes of listening to music per day), the battery lasted for 8 days. The device has a 18650 battery with a capacity (according to the manufacturer) of 2600 mAh.
Alarm charge schedule. (Residual charge level 10%)

Disassembly

Alarm clock design.

Now let's start destroying the device. To do this, take a standard set for telephones and use a plastic spatula around the perimeter to open the front part. It’s better not to repeat this, because the mesh is made of fabric, it can be easily damaged, even with plastic, and the latches inside are glued. Only after spending a lot of nerves and using the entire set of swear words, I removed the front cover.

A control board with LEDs is installed on the back of the cover; it is powered and interacts with all other elements using cables.

Next, we clean off the remaining glue and, using blows, back cover alarm clock, remove the musical component.

The glued box contains an active speaker and two passive radiators. I didn’t take it apart further, so as not to ruin the idyll of the sound.

At the back, the 18650 battery is placed in a special bed and covered with a foam backing to prevent vibration inside the device. The contact of the wires with the battery is made by soldering.

Alarm clock charging board.

Bottom line

Among the personal advantages of the device, I will certainly include the pleasant appearance, high-quality sound, good capacity battery and an alarm clock function that works 100% (the alarm clock works with a gradually increasing volume of the melody, which prevents sudden jumping out of bed with a heart rate under 150)
Nitpicking:
1) time display, I would like regular numbers instead of dots
2) I would like more connectors on the case (microSD, USB type A)

Good afternoon, dear readers of my blog. Alexander Glebov is in touch with you. I was inspired to write this article by the company xiaomi with its bracelet - xiaomi mi band 1s pulse smart alarm clock. But the point is this: after the next program update, the smart alarm clock stopped working, I started to figure it out...

!!!Important update!!!

Since Xiaomi disabled the smart alarm clock at the bracelet firmware level, the method described below may not help you, so I wrote an article where I solved the problem with the firmware and the smart alarm clock works, read -

Background

Bracelet for xiaomi fitness mi band 1s pulse is a device on a strap that fits on your wrists like a watch. Designed to track the number of steps you've taken, can measure your pulse, as well as track your sleep phases and wake you up at the right moment when it's easiest to wake up. The cost of the bracelet if you order on Aliexpress will be about $13-15. Xiaomi has a special software called Mi Fit. In this program you can view all statistics. How long did you sleep, how long did you walk, etc. Previously, it was possible to enable the smart alarm function, but for some reason they removed this function from version 2.0.X. Now Mi Fit can simply wake you up specified time. So I started looking for a way to return the smart alarm clock.

Xiaomi mi band 1s pulse smart alarm clock - not working

For a long time I “smoked” the 4pda forum, read the posts and came to the conclusion that now you can’t set up a smart alarm clock using the standard Mi Fit program, but the Xiaomi developers have kept a smart alarm clock in the mi band bracelet. To activate it, there is a wonderful program on Android Mi Band Notify & Fitness. You can download it at play market(if you want me to post it on my blog, write about it in the comments). So, the program is shareware, but it is suitable for basic functions. Counts steps, smart alarm clock works. Previously, there were a lot of complaints about this program, saying that it was slow, took a long time to open and connect to the bracelet, etc. I've been using it for several days now. I didn't notice any problems. So, let's see how to set up a smart alarm in Mi Band Notify & Fitness

Monitoring your health is now in fashion, and therefore fitness gadgets are in great demand today. At the same time, Xiaomi Mi Band 2 is currently one of the most popular trackers in the world. iOS users also love this device very much. The secret of the tracker's popularity lies in the successful combination of decent functionality and low price. The quality of workmanship is also excellent, because Xiaomi is a China for which there is no shame. In addition, Xiaomi Mi Band 2, unlike the first generation of fitness bracelet, has a convenient display.

The Mi Fit application was created specifically to control the tracker. However, the program developers decided not to bother with supporting a large number of languages and Russian is not officially supported - and does not exist official version Mi Fit is in Russian for neither iOS nor Android. So the user has to choose - either use the program in English, or try to install an unofficial Russian-language version on the device.

In this article we will tell you how to download official application in English and how to install Russian.

Install on iPhone app Mi Fit in English is very simple, because this version is freely available in the iOS app store - App Store. That is, all you need to do:

That's all! Once the download is complete, you can start using the application to track your physical indicators and health.

Mi Fit for iOS in Russian

In general, it is worth saying that the Mi Fit interface is simple and intuitive, and therefore we see no point in bothering with installing the Russian version, because, as you probably already guessed, this will not be so easy to do due to the closed nature of iOS. However, if you really want to have an application in Russian, and for this you are ready to overcome some difficulties, well, our guides will help you.

Installation without jailbreak

Until recently, it was not possible to install Mi Fit for Mi Band 1 and 2 on iOS without jailbreak.

Let us remind you that jailbreaking is a procedure for hacking a system, which is decided upon by users who are not ready to put up with its closed nature. After jailbreaking, the user has greater opportunities to customize the platform, but the warranty on the device is lost.

Today, there is a loophole that allows you to install an unofficial Russian-language Mi Fit on your iPhone without jailbreaking. The method is quite tricky, and not everyone can pull it off - here it is detailed description. If you have any questions along the way, you can ask them.

Installation with jailbreak

For those who have hacked their iPhone, everything will be easier. You just need to download the Russian-language Mi Fit from here and install the downloaded IPA file on your iPhone via IPA Installer or iFunbox.

If you don’t have jailbreak, and the method without jailbreak is not clear, we advise you to use the English version - well, don’t hack iOS for the sake of a simple health tracking application.

Mi Fit functionality

And so that you understand how simple and unpretentious the application is, here we will give a short review of it.

By the way, we should immediately note that the application for mi band on iOS has somewhat reduced functionality compared to the Android version, but the main options are present.

So, when you download the application and open it, you will see a white and gray menu and the words Unpaired, which means the bracelet is not connected. So the first task is to make friends between the tracker and smartphone, for this:

Ready! The tracker is connected and ready to analyze your health.

A swipe to the left of the main menu takes you to the sleep section - here you can see how long you slept per day, the amount of deep and REM sleep. Clicking on the top area opens a graph section where you can see at what time you slept deeply and at what time you slept lightly.

When you right-swipe from the main menu, you find yourself in a section where information about your weight and other characteristics is indicated, but all of them only work if you also have Mi Scale.

There is another interesting button in the upper right corner. By clicking on it, a menu drops down from which you can go to the My Devices section - it contains information about the charge level of the bracelet and allows you to make some settings and control the tracker, for example, if you have lost the bracelet, click Locate Band and it will begin to vibrate and flash. Also interesting is the Vibrate for Incoming calls option; when activated, the bracelet will vibrate when there is an incoming call.

In addition to the My Devices section in the menu that drops down when you click the top button on the right, the Alarm section, that is, an alarm clock, is interesting. By the way, it’s strange that the smart alarm clock option is not implemented inside the application - after all, the bracelet can analyze sleep and a regular alarm clock is included in the program. Well, perhaps this strange oversight will be corrected in updates.

Let's summarize

There is no official version of the Mi Fit application in Russian. However, if you really want, you can install the unofficial Russian-language version, although this is not so easy to do due to the closed nature of iOS. In addition, we believe that in this situation the game is not worth the candle - the application has an intuitive interface that is easy to learn in any language.

Detailed video review Mi Fit can be viewed here.

With the advent of built-in alarm clocks, the likelihood of oversleeping is reduced to zero, because you can set the exact time in advance and wake up to the selected melody. All Xiaomi smartphones are equipped with this function, which makes their use very convenient.

Where is the Xiaomi alarm clock?

There is a Clock widget on the desktop. By touching it, you will be taken to the application, where at the top you will see a list of functions: “Alarm”, “Clock”, “Stopwatch” and “Timer”. Accordingly, choose what you need.

If the widget is not visible on the main screen, then just go to the “Tools” menu and find the corresponding icon in it.

Setting up the Xiaomi alarm clock

Thanks to the extensive functionality of Xiaomi smartphones, you can set not one, but several alarms at once, which are displayed in the form of a list.

How to set the time

At the bottom of the screen are the hours and minutes, which can be selected by scrolling up and down. Once the time setting is complete, click on “OK” (located in the upper right corner).

How to choose a melody

Among the advantages of alarm clocks built into the MIUI 9 firmware, it is worth noting that the sounding composition can either be left by default, or you can set your own.

To do this, click on the “Melody” menu of the Xiaomi alarm clock, after which you will be taken to the selected folder. When the appropriate melody is selected, confirm your action by clicking “OK”. In a similar way, you can select music tracks in other Xiaomi devices, including the Xiaomi Mi Band 2 smart alarm clock. If you need additional guarantee that you will hear a signal, you can use the “Vibrate when signal” function.

How to choose the repeat frequency

The function of selecting the frequency of application activation is very convenient. Thus, it is possible to turn it on once, only on weekdays or weekends, the required days of the week, or turn it on on an ongoing basis. It’s easy to determine the appropriate frequency; just go to the “Repeat” submenu, and then tap “OK” again.

How to turn on sound, decrease/increase volume

If you notice that under the image of the clock there is an inscription “Alarm sound is disabled,” then even with the correct settings, you will not hear the sound (except for the vibration alert, subject to its prior activation).
