What to do Skyrim sees files. The Skyrim launcher doesn't see fashion! How to solve this problem? Slow game loading from Steam

The Elder Scrolls universe captivated players not only with its rich history, carefully crafted world, colorful characters, but also with the ability to customize the game completely to suit themselves. If desired, you can make the hero freeze while traveling through the snowy lands of Skyrim, so that he needs food and water and rest. Or maybe someone just wants to cut across the tundra in a Cossack... There are fashions for every taste and color. But sometimes the Skyrim launcher doesn’t see fashion. And it becomes very disappointing, because other players can improve the game... Why doesn’t the launcher see mods for Skyrim and how to fix this problem?

Possible problem options

There are 2 types of problems with the inability to connect mods for the game. Option one: all the inscriptions in the launcher are active except the “Files” tab itself; in this case, you won’t be able to click on it. Accordingly, it will not be possible to connect any modifications to the game. It looks like this.

Another option is also possible: the “Files” tab works, but the “Skyrim” launcher does not see the mod, the window that opens in this case is simply empty or only standard add-ons are displayed in it.

It is quite possible to solve these problems.

If the "Files" tab is not lit

If the “Files” tab is inactive and you can’t even see what mods can be connected, then the problem is in the SkyrimPrefs.ini folder. For the launcher to work correctly and the ability to connect mods, you need to open this document in a notepad or other text editor, and then add a line in the Launcher section.

bEnableFileSelection=1

How to find this file? During a standard installation of the game, the file should be located in the system drive (most often this is the C:\ drive), in the “My Documents” folder My Games\Skyrim\.

If the launcher does not see the fashion

In this situation, there are 2 possible reasons and, accordingly, 2 options for solving the problem.

Option 1. If the game sees standard add-ons, but not those downloaded from external resources, check that the mods are installed correctly. Modifications must be installed in the Data folder, which is located in the root directory of the game. In this case, the downloaded files need to be unpacked (if they were in the archive). If there is a Data folder in the folder with the downloaded mod, then you need to put it in the Skyrim folder (where there is a Data folder and then merge it).

If the archive contains folders with meshes and textures, as well as files with the extension esp and bsa, then the contents of such an archive must be extracted to the game’s Data folder.

Perhaps it is the correct installation of mods that will allow Skyrim to see modifications.

Option 2. It is possible that the game does not see mods at all. In this case, some error occurred in the combination of the registry and file system. For example, such a problem may occur if you renamed the game folder, moved it, or simply had some kind of glitch in the registry. In this case, you need to open the registry with the command Windows + r (or Run Start) and write the word regedit.

You need to find the following path:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Bethesda Softworks/Skyrim/

The Installed Path line most likely contains an incorrect path to Skyrim. Perhaps this is why the Skyrim launcher does not see fashion. You need to specify the correct path to the game and this problem will be solved.

Whatever the problem with Skyrim modifications, it can be solved. We hope that the methods outlined in this article helped get rid of the problem when the Skyrim launcher does not see the mod.

The game sound is too quiet

  • RMB on the sound icon in the tray => Playback devices => RMB on “Speakers” => Properties => Improvements.
  • Find the “Loudness” item in the list, mark it and apply the change.

When starting the game the computer starts beeping intermittently

Disable the Xbox 360 controller in the game settings or in the SkyrimPref.ini file, find the line bGamepadEnable=1. Change the value to 0.

You can find saves here:

  • Windows 7: Documents\My Documents\My Games\Skyrim\Saves
  • Windows 10: Documents\My Documents\My Games\Skyrim\Saves

Shadows have no anti-aliasing, although the quality settings are at maximum

In the SkyrimPrefs.ini file, find the line iBlurDeferredShadowMask= and set, for example, 7. The shadows will become blurrier and less detailed, but not a trace will remain of the “ladder”.

For owners of powerful systems, an option with increased shadow resolution is suitable. To do this, in the SkyrimPrefs.ini file, find the line iShadowMapResolution= and set the value to 8192. If after these manipulations crashes/brakes begin, reduce the value in increments of 512 until the game runs stable.

Two cursors are displayed on the screen - game and system

Skyrim is a wonderful role-playing saga that allows the hero to travel through an open game world. The game has quite a wide functionality. In addition, the user can transform it the way he needs.

With their help, you can add new textures and objects to Skyrim, improve graphics, characters, etc.

The website skyrim.nexusmods.com has many plugins to improve the game. All that remains is to choose the one you like. It is very convenient to install mods automatically. To do this, follow these simple steps:

1) You must register on the website skyrim.nexusmods.com.

2) After that, go to the “Mod Manager” tab and select the “Download” command in the drop-down menu.

3) Download Nexus Mod Manager and install the program, following the instructions and launch it. The first time you launch it, it will automatically search for the folder with the Skyrim game.

4) Enter registration data. The manager window will open.

5) Open the mod selected on the website and go to the “File” tab. Then select the “Download with Manager” command and launch the application.

6) In the installed manager window, go to the “Mods” tab. At the bottom you will see that the selected plugin has been successfully loaded.

7) To install a downloaded mod in Skyrim, you need to select it and select the “Activates the selected mod” command in the left menu.

To check that the mods are installed correctly, you need to launch the game launcher “Launch Skyrim”. This is a game pre-launch program. It is used to change Skyrim settings. And, in addition, the launcher is used to connect mods.

In the launcher window there is a “Files” tab, when selected, it should display installed files plugins.

If skyrim does not see the files in the launcher, you need to open the “SkyrimPrefs.ini” file along the path My Documents\My Games\Skyrim\. In the window that opens, you need to find the section and add the code under it: “bEnableFileSelection=1”. Save your changes.

If, after this setting, Skyrim does not see the files in the launcher, you should use the second option.

You need to go to the registry. To do this, click the “Start” button and select the “Run” command. The same command can be activated by simultaneously pressing Windows keys+ r. In the dialog box that opens, enter “regedit” in the empty line.

Then, in the left part of the Registry Editor window, you need to expand the folder tree in the following order: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Bethesda Softworks/Skyrim/. Next, go to the right side and find the Installed Path line. It has a “Value” column, which most likely indicates the wrong path for the game. This is the reason why Skyrim does not see files in the launcher. To change the path, you need to right-click on “Installed Path”.

Then select the “Edit” command. A window will open where the real path to finding the game is written in the “Value” line. For example: C:\Program Files\Skyrim\.

After this, all files downloaded to the “Data” folder will be displayed in the launcher. Now you can safely use advanced features in Skyrim!
