The sensational game is wildly popular, but... damn it, how to install it? The mod does not have a separate installer. - To install and play simply, without dancing, tambourine and other ritual movements (which easily eat up your precious evening).

First, we will talk about installing the regular version - without Steam.

I suggest a simple method - first download what I indicate in the text below, and then follow my detailed installation steps. Everything will take you about an hour - mainly, everything will depend on the speed of your hard drive :)

If you want to get an optimally configured client with which you will not have any problems, follow my instructions exactly)

So, you will need it - I am listing it in detail so as not to miss anything.

1) Game ARMA 2– if possible, buy a license, but if you can’t find it, use the image (I used the image from Akella). A “universal” key usually comes with the image.

2) Game image Arma2_Operation_Arrowhead

3) Key for the game Arma2_Operation_Arrowhead(you will need to buy a key in the store - you won’t be able to play without it!). Personally, I took it here.

4) Patch for the game Arma2_Operation_Arrowhead 1.60(type ARMA2OA_Update_160 into the search engine)

Regarding beta patches:

At the moment, Bohemia is actively patching and optimizing the Arma2_Operation_Arrowhead client, and therefore new versions of the mod often require downloading a small patch. There is no need to panic here - this rarely happens.

Currently, the DAYZ version requires the latest beta patch for Operation_Arrowhead - over time, the article will become outdated, and you may need to download the next latest patch. If you don’t get the patch right, it’s okay; when you log into the server, the client will tell you which patch you need. You can always find all the latest beta patches for the game, the latest patch is usually at the very top - that’s what you need to install

Now install the Six Updater program– she downloads the necessary files.

On the desktop it will create two shortcuts - Six Launcher and Six Updater. We launch Six Launcher and select the location where we installed the game (when you first launch the program, it should suggest this itself).

Install DAYZ (both versions - including steam)

Click the mods tab, and then click on the mod name section, and start typing (without quotes) "@DAYZ". – On the mod that appears with the same name (there will be only one), press the right mouse button, in the menu that appears, find the item marked in the figure and click it.

It often happens that there is another deadline for updating there, like - “beta patcher blah blah” - no big deal, let him patch and update everything.

Next, for convenience, you can download the ArmA2 setup program - ArmA II Launcher. There you can fine-tune the client settings, specify priorities, the number of cores used, memory, and other things. In general, it’s a convenient thing.

You can run the mod itself as you please.

Someone will launch Six Launcher and immediately select the desired server from there (by the way, very convenient). Some people will be used to launching the mod from the ARMA2 game.

Installing the steam version.

1. Go to steam and buy a version of the game called Combined Operations.

2. Download Combined Operations.

3. Launch both games - first Armu2, then Operation_Arrowhead.

This is why the DayZ Epoch mod is so popular among fans of the multiplayer shooter Arma. With it, you can add elements of a zombie apocalypse to the game. However, everything is not so simple - this mod still needs to be able to install and configure, and without good instructions you may have some problems. This article is intended so that everyone can acquire a modification of this mod, right? Now you will learn about this process in detail.

Base game

The first thing to note is that you will need the Arma 2 base game if you want to add the DayZ Epoch expansion to it. How to install the game itself? This question is the simplest of all to come. If you use Steam, then there should be no problems at all, since after purchase the game will be immediately available for download and installation. If you play the pirated version, then you will have to tinker much longer. The thing is that this is a multiplayer shooter, and the pirate only gives you access to the single player game. Accordingly, you will need to look for the necessary cracks that will allow you to play online, or you can use third-party software that can emulate or bypass protection in other ways. In any case, this is not what we are talking about now. When you have a ready-made game client on your computer with network access, you can go directly to the DayZ Epoch mod. How to install it on your computer? Unlike simpler modifications, this requires a little effort.

DayZ Epoch Mod

First of all, it is worth noting that you need to download the game files of the DayZ Epoch mod themselves. How to install them? This issue will be discussed a little later, for now you need to understand what exactly you need to download. Most often, you can easily find this modification on torrents, that is, there should not be any special problems with downloading. However, please note that this is still a pirate, so you may have some difficulties. To avoid this, always download the most popular version. It is advisable that there be detailed instructions on what you need to do to successfully obtain the mod. After all, sometimes it’s not enough to just download it. It's also worth noting that in the case of DayZ Epoch, servers can support different versions of the modification, so you'd better get several options at once if you don't yet know where exactly you'll be playing.

Installing the mod

In DayZ Epoch, servers are very common at the moment, so the process will be much easier from now on. If we are talking specifically about installing the modification, then everything is quite simple: you need to unzip the contents of the mod into the desired folder, that is, the most difficult task in this case is to find the desired directory. As you well understand, this can be done quite quickly if you know what exactly to look for. But even if you don’t know this, everything will be pretty obvious, because the folder is named exactly the same as the modification itself, only with an underscore between the two words, and a “dog” icon before the name of the mod. It is to this folder that you need to copy all the files that you received. This is also where you will need to place DayZ Epoch scripts if you want to use them and further improve the performance of your game.

Starting the game

Everything is much simpler if you have a licensed version of the Arma game on which you will install the DayZ Epoch modification. A pirate can make you spend a lot more time fiddling with the game. But it is worth noting that the process will be approximately the same in any case. You definitely need to create a shortcut on your desktop, since you will need to assign additional properties to it, which cannot be done with the game file itself through which you will launch the project. You will need two commands, but you can use more if you want to optimize the game's performance and add more advanced features. So the first command is world=Empty, which specifies that the world will be created empty. This is necessary for your mod to run. The second command is one that tells the game itself that it needs to load the mod from the folder where you installed it. After that, you can safely launch Arma through this shortcut, and then you will find yourself in a completely different gaming world.

Game settings

All you have to do in the game is create a new game profile and connect to the DayZ Epoch server. Just don’t rush to connect, because before this the game must automatically update the anti-cheat, so it won’t be possible to launch it right away - you’ll have to wait two or three minutes.

In order to install DayZ Epoch, there are several options - paid through Steam and using a pirate key, of course, free.

Features of installing DayZ Epoch via Steam

You can install DayZ Epoch in Steam. However, this option requires money (about 700 rubles). If you are ready to pay, then download patches and mods for Arma 2 toys from your Library. If you have already purchased the game, then you just have to stop it like any other from the Library. Or use the free version of Arma 2 Free, which is available on the Internet.

The next step is to go to Steam and launch ArmA 2 and ArmA 2: Operation Arrowhead one at a time. Next, launch Arma 2: DayZ Mod (don’t forget to indicate “Start with beta patch”) and you can start the game.

Installing DayZ Epoch without Steam

Download ArmA 2 + Operation Arrowhead from any torrent.

Find the pirate key and install the game with it, or just try entering OOOO-OOOO (zeros).

Do not use the patch that you will see in the ArmA 2 installation folder. Buy the key to the add-on - Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead (not the original Steam key to the game itself, offered by Akella or 1C). Launch the toy.

Requirements:
To run ArmA 2: DayZ Mod we will need:
Steam account with "ArmA 2 OA" (point 1) or CD/DVD key of the "ArmA 2 OA" version (point 1.1).
Installed Steam version of "ArmA 2 OA" (clause 2), any (including pirated) version of "ArmA 2" (clause 2.1), "DayZ Mod" (clause 2.2)
Patience and attentiveness (point 3)

1. If you already have “ArmA 2 OA” activated on your Steam account, look at point (2). If you have a CD/DVD version of "ArmA 2 OA", see paragraph (1.1).
1.1 And so, we need to activate ArmA 2 OA on your Steam account. To do this, click in the lower left corner on Steam "+ ADD GAME" -> "Activate on Steam" -> "Next" -> "Agree" and enter the key that is indicated on the game box in the "Product Key" field, confirm activation and go to point (2).

2. Everything is simple here, in the Steam library select “ArmA 2 Operation Arrowhead” and click “Install”, wait until the game is installed. We launch the game and spend a couple of minutes in it (I advise beginners to undergo training), smoothly move on to point (2.1).
2.1 Steam does not allow me to insert a download link, so we go to a verified Torrent tracker and look for any distribution we like with the game "ArmA 2" (almost any repack will do, since we do not need the game itself, but its files) (IMPORTANT: the game must be patched to version 1.11). After downloading the distribution, install the game in any convenient place. We launch it and spend a couple of minutes in it.
2.2 Download DayZ Mod http://store.steampowered.com/app/224580/
3. Now we will move the map from "ArmA 2" to "ArmA 2 OA", in fact, in the end we will get a full-fledged "ArmA 2 Combined Operations". Go to the folder with "ArmA 2" installed (you set the path yourself during installation) and move/copy the "Addons" folder to (...Steam/SteamApps/common/ArmA 2 Operation Arrowhead).
Launch "DayZ Mod" from the Steam library. And so, we got to the menu, look in the lower left corner, if there we see the logos “ArmA 2”, “ArmA 2 Operation Arrowhead” and “DayZ” everything was successful))

P.S To find servers for our version, I enter the DayZ Mod version in the filter, for example “1.8.6.1”. There are few servers, but you can play. You can find out which version of DayZ Mod you have in the menu by looking at the lower right corner.

How to install DayZ?

• To access the server, you need to find pirated servers that you will have to search on the Internet and find out their IP address, and sometimes you will have to install a special patch. However, you can find pirate servers in normal mode by entering the phrases nocd, no cd, no dvd, nodvd and other variations. Then a list of available pirate servers will be displayed.
• You also need to install the SiX Launcher program. It will help you download the latest updates for the mod and install them without the official launcher, which will require a license key. The same program can also be used with a license to download updates if this function suddenly does not work there.

Playing on pirated servers is not as good as on licensed ones, because there are a huge number of cheaters, hackers, and server administrators can do whatever they want, including changing day to night or removing loot. Also, pirate servers do not save your character's progress for another server. On licensed servers, it is possible to change the server to another and maintain the leveling of the character and his loot.
