Htc desire c firmware 4.4. Installing the latest (4.2.2) Android on the old HTC Desire S

HTC Desire 516 Dual Sim is a smartphone that, like many other Android devices, can be flashed in several ways. Reinstalling the system software– a need that arises not so rarely among the owners of the model in question. Such manipulations, if performed correctly and successfully, allow you to somewhat “refresh” the device in software terms, as well as restore functionality lost as a result of failures and errors.

The success of stitching procedures is determined by the correct preparation of tools and files that will be needed during the work process, as well as strict adherence to instructions. In addition, do not forget the following:

Responsibility for the result of manipulations with the device lies solely with the user who carries them out. All the actions described below are performed by the smartphone owner at his own peril and risk!

Preparatory procedures preceding the actual process of transferring files to device partitions can take quite a long time, but it is highly recommended to carry them out in advance. Especially in the case of the HTC Desire 516 Dual Sim - the model quite often creates problems for its users in the process of manipulating the system software.

Drivers

Installing drivers to pair the device and software tools For firmware it usually does not cause difficulties. You just need to follow the instructions for Qualcomm devices from the article:

Just in case, an archive with drivers for manual installation is always available for download at the following link:

Backup

Due to the possible need to restore the smartphone software, as well as the mandatory deletion of user data from the device during the software installation process, you need to save all valuable information contained in the phone’s memory in a safe place. And it is also highly recommended to create a backup of all partitions using . Instructions can be found in the material at the link:

Since several software installation methods are applicable to the device in question, which differ quite significantly from each other, links to downloading the necessary programs and files will be posted in the description of the methods. Before proceeding directly with the instructions, it is recommended that you familiarize yourself with all the steps that will have to be carried out, as well as download all the necessary files.

Firmware

Depending on the state of the device, as well as the goals set by the user performing the firmware, the method of carrying out the procedure is selected. The methods described below are arranged in order from simple to more complex.

Method 1: MicroSD + Factory Recovery Environment

The first method by which you can try to install Android on HTC Desire 516 is to use the capabilities of the “native” recovery environment provided by the manufacturer. This method is considered official, which means it is relatively safe and easy to implement. You can download the software package for installation according to the instructions below using the link:

As a result of completing the steps below, we get a smartphone with the official firmware installed, intended for the European region version.

There is no Russian language in the package! The Russification of the interface will be discussed in the additional step of the instructions below.

Additionally: Russification

To Russify the European version of the OS, you can use the Android application Morelocale 2. The program is available on Google Play.

Method 2: ADB Run

The result of following the instructions below will be a smartphone with the official firmware version 1.10.708.001 (the latest available for the model) containing the Russian language. You can download the archive with the firmware from the link:

  1. Download and unpack the archive with the firmware.
  2. The folder obtained as a result of unpacking contains a multi-volume archive containing the most important image for installation - "System". It also needs to be extracted into the directory with the rest of the image files.
  3. Install ADB Run.
  4. Open in Explorer the directory with ADB Run, which is located along the path C:/adb, and then go to the folder "img".
  5. Copying files boot.img, system.img, recovery.img, obtained as a result of unpacking the firmware, into folders with appropriate names contained in the directory C:/adb/img/ (that is, the file boot.img- to the folder C:\adb\img\boot and so on).
  6. Writing the three above file images to the corresponding sections of the HTC Desire 516 flash memory can be considered a full installation of the system. In normal cases, it is not necessary to install the remaining image files, but if there is such a need, copy them to the C:\adb\img\all folder.
  7. Enable USB debugging and connect the device to the PC.
  8. We launch Adb Run and use it to reboot the device into mode "Fastboot". To do this, first select point 4 "Reboot Devices" in the main menu of the application,

and then enter the number 3 from the keyboard - item "Reboot Bootloader". Click "Enter".

  9. The smartphone will reboot to the state "Download", what does the loading screensaver frozen on the screen indicate? "HTC" on a white background.
  10. In ADB Run, press any key, and then return to the main menu of the program - item "10 – Back to Menu".

    Choose "5-Fastboot".

  11. The next window is a menu for selecting a memory partition into which the image file will be transferred from the corresponding folder in the C:\adb\img directory.

  12. Optional but recommended procedure. We clean the partitions that we are going to write, as well as the partition "Data". Choose "e - Clear Partitions (erase)".

And then, one by one, we go to the points corresponding to the names of the sections:

"Modem" And "Splash1" NO NEED to wash!

  13. We return to the image selection menu and write down the sections.

  • We transfer the image files in a manner similar to the previous step of the instructions "Recovery"

And "System" to HTC Desire 516 memory.

Image "System" in essence, it is the Android OS, which is installed in the device in question. This section is the largest in volume and therefore its rewriting takes quite a long time. The process cannot be interrupted!

  • If there is a need to flash the remaining partitions and the corresponding image files are copied to the C:\adb\img\all directory, to install them you need to select "1 - Firmware All Partitions" in the selection menu "Fastboot menu".

And wait for the process to complete.

  • After finishing recording the last image, select in the request screen "Reboot device normal Mode (N)" by entering from the keyboard "N" and pressing "Enter".

This will lead to the smartphone rebooting, a long startup time, and eventually the HTC Desire 516 initial setup screen will appear.

  • Method 3: Fastboot

If the method of flashing each partition of the HTC Desire 516 memory separately seems too complicated or time-consuming, you can use one of the Fastboot commands, which allows you to write the main part of the system without, in some cases, unnecessary actions on the part of the user.

  • We check that the smartphone and PC are paired correctly. IN command line send the command:
    fastboot devices

The system's response should be serial number 0123456789ABCDEF and inscription "fastboot".

  • To avoid errors when performing the following steps, we indicate to Fastboot the location of the images by entering the command: set ANDROID_PRODUCT_OUT=c:\directory_name_with_fastboot
  • To start flashing, enter the command: fastboot flashall. Click "Enter" and watch the execution process.
  • Upon completion of the procedure, the partitions will be overwritten "Boot", "Recovery" And "System", and the device will reboot into Android automatically.
  • If there is a need to overwrite other sections of the HTC Desire 516 memory in this way, place the necessary image files in the fastboot folder, and then use commands with the following syntax:

fastboot flash partition name image file name.img

For example, let's write the section "modem". By the way, for the device in question, writing the “modem” section is a procedure that may be necessary after restoring the smartphone from a non-working state, if as a result the smartphone works as it should, but there is no connection.

Copy the required image(s) to the directory with Fastboot (1) and send the command(s) (2):
    fastboot flash modem modem.img

  • Upon completion of work, restart HTC Desire 516 from the command line: fastboot reboot
  • Method 4: Custom firmware

The HTC Desire 516 model has not gained wide popularity due to its hardware and software features, therefore, unfortunately, it is impossible to say that a lot of modified firmware is available for the device.

One of the ways to transform and refresh the device in question in software terms is to install an Android shell modified by one of the users of the device, called Lolifox. You can download all the necessary files that you will need when performing the steps in the instructions below using the links below.

In the proposed solution, its author has done serious work in terms of changing the OS interface (looks like Android 5.0), deodexed the firmware, removed unnecessary applications from HTC and Google, and also added an item to the settings that allows you to control startup applications. In general, the custom works quickly and stably.

    Installing custom recovery.

To install a modified OS, you will need custom recovery capabilities. We will use it, although there is also a port for the device that you can download. In general, installation in D516 and work with different custom recoveries are similar.

    Installing custom Lolifox

Once the modified recovery is installed in the HTC Desire 516, installing custom software is not difficult. It is enough to follow the instructions from the lesson at the link below, which involve installing zip packages.

Let us dwell only on a few points recommended for implementation for the model under consideration.

Method 5: Recovering inoperative HTC Desire 516

When operating and flashing any Android device, trouble can occur - as a result of various failures and errors, the device freezes at a certain stage, stops turning on, endlessly reboots, etc. Among users, the device in this state was called “brick”. The following may be a way out of the situation.

The recovery methodology (“unscrapping”) of HTC Desire 516 Dual Sim involves performing quite a large number of actions and using several tools. We carefully follow the following instructions step by step.

Switching the smartphone to “Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader9008” mode

    1. Download and unpack the archive with all the necessary files and tools for recovery.

The result of unpacking should be the following:

    2. To restore, you need to put the smartphone into a special emergency mode QDLoader 9006. Remove the cover covering the battery.
    3. We remove the battery, SIM cards and memory card. Then unscrew 11 screws:
    4. Carefully remove the part of the case covering the motherboard of the device.
    5. On motherboard we find two contacts marked "GND" And "DP". Subsequently, they will need to be bridged before connecting the device to the PC.
    6. We install the QPST software package from the folder of the same name, obtained as a result of unpacking the archive using the link above.
    7. Go to the directory with QPST (C:\Program Files\Qualcomm\QPST\bin\) and run the file QPSTConfig.exe
    8. Opening "Device Manager", prepare a cable connected to the USB port of the PC. Closing the contacts "GND" And "DP" on the D516 motherboard and, without opening them, insert the cable into the MicroUSB connector of the phone.
    9. Remove the jumper and look out the window "Device Manager". If everything is done correctly, the device will be detected as "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader9008."
    10. Go to QPSTConfig and make sure that the device is detected correctly, as in the screenshot below. Don't close QPSTConfig!
    11. Open the folder with the QPST files again and run the file emmcswdownload.exe on behalf of the Administrator.
    12. Add the following files to the fields of the window that opens:
    13. We press the buttons and indicate to the program the location of the files:
    14. We check that all fields are filled in correctly (should be like in the screenshot below) and click "Download".
    15. As a result of the operation, HTC Desire 516 Dual Sim will be switched to a mode that is suitable for writing a dump to memory. In Device Manager, the device should be identified as . If, after manipulations via QPST, the device is determined to be somehow different, manually install the drivers from the folder "Qualcomm_USB_Drivers_Windows".

    Additionally

In the event that errors occur during QPST operation and the smartphone switches to "Qualcomm HS-USB Diagnostics9006" We can’t do it, we try to perform this manipulation through the MiFlash program. You can download the firmware version suitable for manipulating HTC Desire 516 Dual Sim, as well as the necessary files, from the link:

    1. Unpack the archive and install MiFlash.
    2. We follow steps 8-9 described above in the instructions, that is, we connect the device to the computer in a state where it is detected in Device Manager as "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader9008".
    3. Launch MiFlash.
    4. Press the button "Browse" in the program and indicate the path to the directory "files_for_miflash", located in the folder obtained as a result of unpacking the archive downloaded from the link above.
    5. Click "Refresh", which will lead to the device being detected by the program.
    6. Calling up the list of button options "Browse" by clicking on the triangle image next to the last one

and selecting from the menu that opens "Advanced...".

    7. In the window "Advanced" using buttons "Browse" add files from the folder to the fields "files_for_miflash" in the following way:

After all files have been added, click "OK".

    8. Next, you will need to be careful. Making the window visible "Device Manager".
    9. Press the button "Flash" in the flasher and observe the COM ports section in "Dispatcher".
    10. Immediately after the moment when the smartphone is detected as "Qualcomm HS-USB Diagnostics9006", we shut down MiFlash without waiting for the end of manipulations in the program, and move on to the next stage HTC recovery Desire 516.

    File system recovery

Thus, having studied how to install system software in the HTC Desire 516 Dual Sim, the user gains full control over the device and can quite easily restore the device’s functionality if necessary, as well as give the smartphone a “second life” using customization.

Today we will install new custom firmware on HTC Desire S, that is, we will update from stock Android 2.3 to 4.2.2 + Sense 5. Is it tempting? Then let's get started with the installation! If you do everything step by step, then there should be no problems. I also want to remind you that I do not bear any responsibility for your actions - everything is at your own peril and risk.

HTC Desire S firmware- step-by-step instruction

We will bet CyanogenMod firmware 10.1. I won’t write about it for a long time, but to get acquainted with the functionality and various delights, I’ll post a video review of this CM10.1:

A logical question will arise: is it possible to install some other assembly? Answer: of course, to do this, just google your firmware or use the XDA-Developers forum. Well, or as a last resort, ask in the comments - we’ll pick something up. Just as an example, I chose CM10.1.

After reviewing the firmware for Desire S, let's start installation:

To get started, download the package of firmware files: various drivers, recovery, set Google services- in general, everything that is useful to us.

    1. Go to the downloaded folder and immediately install drivers for working with a telephone HTC Sync(htc sync setup_3.3.53).

    2. We create for convenience on drive C:\ android folder and throw there all the files (there are four of them) from the downloaded folder android-tools.

    3. I have already written an article, so calmly follow the link and follow the instructions. I would like to note that HTC Desire S is not in the list (third item), so we select “All Other Supported Model”.

    4. Next, let's proceed to the firmware recovery. I’ve already written a lot about how to enter bootloader htc, but I’ll still remind you: take out and insert the phone’s battery, then hold down the volume down and press the power button. A three-color menu should appear - this is our bootloader.

    5. Now connect Desire S to PC via USB. In the bootloader go to fastboot item(move the volume rocker) and press the phone's power button.

    6. We return to the downloaded folder: we throw all the files from Recovery (there are three of them) into the C:\android we created.

    7. Open the CMD command line (for those who don’t know how: Start -> Run -> enter cmd). Enter:

    fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

and again Enter. Recovery installed! Excellent!

    8. I advise you to do it data backup just in case there is a fireman. To do this, go to the bootloader, select recovery item, and there we look" backup and restore".

    10. And here is the point installing firmware on Desire S.

    • The phone must be connected to the PC.
    • Go to Recovery and select toggle usb storage.
    • Now go to the downloaded folder, then copy the firmware and GAPPS folders (flinnycm101_saga_22 and gapps-jb-20130301-signed) to the Desire S memory card.
    • When the copying is complete, in the same Recovery, click on the Disconnect item. Next, select install from sdcard, look for and install the firmware file CyanogenMod"a - flinnycm101_saga_22. (Details: Install zip from sdcard ->Choose zip from sdcard -> look for where we put the downloaded firmware, select and press (do not hold down!) the power button on the smartphone)
    • When our firmware is installed, we install Google services in the same way - GAPPS.
    • In general, almost everything is ready, all that remains is flash the kernel. Going to Bootloader in this way: in recovery select power menu -> reboot into bootloader.

    11. We return to our PC, go to the downloaded folder that bothered us all and open the firmware file flinnycm101_saga_22, where do we copy the file from? boot.img to the created C:\android\

    12. Go to CMD and enter:

fastboot flash boot boot.img and press Enter.

    13. All that remains is to reboot: in the bootloader we find and go to the item fastboot, Further reboot.

All! We are waiting for the updated phone to download HTC Desire S with new firmware on Android 4.2.2.

I will be very grateful for your comments and reposts in social media! Thanks, have a nice day!

Today we got our hands on an HTC smartphone called Desire C (not to be confused with other Desire phones of previous generations). The device is remarkable primarily because it contains a Qualcomm MSM7225A processor, known for its outstanding characteristics. 600 MHz for the fourth android? In 2012 (released in May)? I would like to look affectionately into the eyes of the developers of the device and ask - guys, you need to save wisely. As a result of the manufacturer's ugly decision out of the box, the phone is so slow to understand that there is a need to do something. The money was spent, and the phone, in principle, is good, if not for the processor. The obvious solution is to speed up everything by flashing it. No sooner said than done, let’s begin lifting restrictions. First, a warning - everything that follows below leads to automatic loss of the warranty (but not the functionality of the phone). You assume all risk in connection with this.

Before you begin, copy all important files from your phone, including phone book! A blank memory card of at least 2 GB (no more than 4) must be inserted into the phone. In application settings, check the debugging by USB and software installation from other sources!

    Drivers and bootloader unlocking

The first action that awaits us while waiting for the carriage to turn into a racing car is unlocking the bootloader. Get ready, you'll have to do a lot of downloading and installing. First we pull it out Android SDK away ( http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html#download) for your system version (x86 or x64). Place it. During installation you may be asked to install Java ( http://java.com/). Choose your version operating system and add the missing ones, then continue installing the Android SDK. Having installed both, look around. In android-sdk-windows, which is on the C: drive, there is an SDK Manager program. We ask her to install additional Android SDK Platform and Android SDK Tools. In turn, here we are looking for a couple of files that are useful for the rest of the process as a whole. These are adb.exe and adbWinApi.dll (folder android-sdk-windowsplatform-tools) and fastboot.exe (hidden in android-sdk-windowstools). This trinity you without a shadow of a doubt copy to the root of the C: drive (in other words, without inserting it into the folders existing there). Create your own folder called Android. Transfer three files to Android folder. A start. Do you think the setup madness is over? We've only just begun! We are strongly advised to add to the list installed by HTC Sync ( http://www.htc.com/www/help/). Reluctantly, agree, remove everything unnecessary later. HTC Sync contains the necessary drivers, which is why it is so needed. Additionally, install the HTC driver package ( http://yadi.sk/d/sY09bJ2_1ii-k).

After installing all the software, reboot. While the computer is turning the hard drive, pull the battery out of the phone, wait five seconds and insert it back. This is necessary, because even the power button does not turn off the device completely, but it is necessary that no power is supplied at all. Let's check the dexterity of your fingers - simultaneously hold down the volume down key and the power key. The phone will show a dark screen and light letters. Navigate through the menu using the sound keys until you see that you have moved to the fastboot item. Select it with the power button by lightly pressing it. The phone will start in the mode we need. Connect it to your computer, open the device manager and make sure that the smartphone is visible to the operating system.

In the start button, you probably saw the “run” item. Call the command line by typing CMD and pressing enter. Users of the stable XP edition will find the command line call in the search. Launch it and leave the window open, it’s time to take on a more boring task - register on the site http://htcdev.com/(account confirmation will be sent to your email). On the right side of this site for those who like to mock phones, you see a window with three answer options. We like Unlock Bootloader go to it. The next window asks for the phone model and your decision whether to unlock it or not. Naturally, we cannot refuse; it was not in vain that we filled the computer with programs and drivers with might and main?! Our device is not in the list (remember the letter C in the name), so scroll to the very bottom, it says All other supported... Let’s stop there. Click Begin and quickly scroll to the last page, simultaneously checking that we have completed 8 of the 10 required steps. Leave this window alone for now and return to the command line, which attracts with a black background and white letters on it. By the way, our fathers and mothers, grandmothers and grandfathers sat behind such a colorful interface - this is where the harsh everyday life of the user is, and here we are complaining about the installation.

On the command line, enter the command (there is no other way to say it):

    cd c:/Android

    Then another one:

    fastboot oem get_identifier_token

The terminal will give us indescribable beauty with approximately the following content:

Copy with the right mouse button all the text that begins with the line <<<< Identifier Token Start >>>> and ending with the same, but with the word End. You need to copy, capturing these lines. Paste what you just copied into the box under point 10 on the HTCdev website (here he has waited for his finest hour). Don't forget to confirm that you copied everything with the Submit button. HTC (or rather, a robot instead) will send you an email with an attached archive a minute later. Take him. There is Unlock_code.bin, which just begs to be placed in a folder with other files with strange names. Send it to C:/Android. Return to the command line left alone by copying this into it: fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin. The phone, in response to launching the command by enter, will tell us that we now belong to the subspecies of dark Jedi, since we have switched to the dark side of the force (that’s what it says, we’re not kidding). Then there will be horror stories about loss of warranty, low-quality firmware and other joys. If after reading you are not scared, then select yes by scrolling down with the sound keys (selection - power button). You can refuse the idea with clause no. Everything will go back to the beginning. That is, to the complete destruction of everything in the phone’s memory, including the phone book. Just factory settings.

By agreeing to go to the dark side, we will receive an open bootloader. The phone will reboot, put it aside for now. The case is not over yet, there is a lot of interesting things ahead!

ReceiptRoot and install firmware with processor overclocking specifically forDesireC

And again, take the put aside device in your hands, pull out the battery and wait 5-10 seconds. After inserting it back, start the phone as you did above - by pressing the sound key down and power on. Select from the fastboot list by pressing the power button. Connect your phone to your computer and wait until the phone is detected.

A small but powerful program can get administrator rights, get it here ( http://yadi.sk/d/XsleRuhW1iiAO). Unpack it to any convenient place (for example, on your desktop) and run install-superboot-windows.bat as administrator. The executable file will be executed immediately, launching the administrator into the phone. Wait for the message that the process is complete and restart the device. Among the programs will be the “Super User” application.

The penultimate step in the dance with the telephone is the installation of an alternative recovery CWM, allowing the installation of third-party firmware. Get the archive here ( http://yadi.sk/d/Xxq-UMVI1ij-w), move recovery.img to the C:/Android folder, where everything else is located. Go to the command line, write the text there:

    fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

    After that write

    adb reboot recovery

The phone will restart in CWM recovery (CloclWorkMod recovery is written on the top of the screen). Select the reboot option on the screen. The phone will boot into normal mode. Connect it to your computer and copy the archive to the memory card ( http://yadi.sk/d/QzLvB1sO1ijVY) with firmware (without unpacking). From the copy that you have left, extract the boot.img file and place it in C:/Android.

Copy to the command line: adb rebootfastboot

The phone will reboot into the familiar text beauty. On the command line we write:

    fastboot flash boot boot.img

So we flash the kernel with overclocking the processor to 726 MHz (in the settings a little later you can decrease and increase the processor values, but not more than the specified number, otherwise an abundance of glitches is guaranteed). Having seen the report about the success of the event, we do the last part of the re-flashing dance with a tambourine.

There is just a little bit left, be patient, dear ones. We will supply the firmware based on official firmware 4.0.3, but - with the presence of a superuser, processor overclocking, firmware acceleration, reduced consumption random access memory, the ability to set special sound settings that improve the sound in headphones (see sound profiles in the settings).

Screenshots of the system are in front of you:

    Write on the command line:

    adb reboot recovery

In the touch menu that appears, select backup, wait for a copy of the standard firmware, just in case. If you don’t like the unofficial one, you can get your old one back by booting into recovery and selecting nandroid – restore.

Once saved, we clean it before final firmware installation. old system– right there, in recovery, look for the items Wipe Data Factory Reset, Wipe Cache, Wipe Dalvik Cache (the latter will most likely be in advanced). Choose them to make room for the new inhabitant of the phone. And so, the fanfare began to sound - install the firmware! Through Install ZIP from SDCARD choose NamelessROM.zip. It will take about one and a half to two minutes (up to five) to install. After completing the task, the phone will write a message that everything is fine. Select reboot on your phone. The smartphone will restart in normal mode. The first download lasts about ten minutes, be patient. When the start screen appears on your screen, your experience with the new system begins.

The need to flash a smartphone arises in two cases: if it starts to “glitch” (here we include “stopped turning on”) and if you have a desire to transform its functionality.

    Types of firmware

There are several types of firmware:

    1. Official via computer. To install it, you will need to connect your device to your computer, go from your computer to the official website of the HTC Desire V company, download the executable file, run it and “obey” the instructions.
    2. Official via phone. You will need free Wi-Fi. Go to the “Phone Settings” menu and select “About Phone” → “Phone Update”. The firmware will be installed automatically.
    3. Alternative. This is an unofficial version created by smart users. It offers a lot more features for the HTC Desire V. Most likely, it's the one you'll choose. Therefore, we will talk about it further.

    Possible risks

HTC firmware Desire V is a serious matter that requires care. Especially if you decide to flash Android using an alternative version.

There are a number of risks that you should be aware of before you handle your smartphone:

    1. Loss of warranty. Any unofficial updates to HTC Desire V lead to the fact that service center No one will help you for free. Therefore, you take full responsibility for the operation of the phone only on yourself.
    2. The situation is getting worse. If you do something wrong or something goes wrong when installing the firmware, your smartphone may become a non-working device. This chance is small - 3 cases out of 100, but it is possible.

So be prepared for anything. If you are not confident in your abilities, then do not rush to flash HTC Desire V yourself.

    Preparing for the firmware process

To begin with, it is advisable for you to obtain special Root rights. You can do this by downloading “Unrevoked” to your computer and installing the drivers.

    1. You need to turn off HTC Desire V and put it in HBOOT mode. To do this, hold down the combination of the “Power” and “Volume Down” buttons.
    2. Now you need to connect to your computer using a USB cable. HBOOT USB PLUG should appear.
    3. Open Device Manager and right-click on the unidentified Android device 1.0. In the secondary menu that appears, select “Update drivers.”
    4. Now you need to click “Search for drivers on this computer” and select the folder in which the unzipped drivers are located.
    5. Exit HBOOT mode. To navigate through its items, use the “Volume Up” and “Volume Down” buttons, and the “Power” button replaces “Enter” - you can use it to select the desired menu item.
    6. Next, launch HTC Desire V in standard mode and enable the “USB Storage” feature.

If HTC Sync is installed on your device, you need to remove it, leaving the drivers behind.

    1. Launch “Unrevoked” and connect your smartphone to your computer. Check the “I agree to the terms” checkbox and wait while the program does its job. During this time, the android may be rebooted several times.

    Main part

Now the HTC Desire V is ready for flashing the firmware. Then follow the following instructions:

    1. Download the firmware you like. We recommend RuHD.
    2. Check if everything is ready:
    • you have Root rights;
    • The firmware file has been downloaded and placed on the memory card;

However, after these manipulations, no more than 18 MB will remain in the phone’s memory free space, which is needed to install peripheral applications.

To increase this figure to 512 MB, you need to create an additional partition on the memory card. There are many ways to do this. There are only a few of the most reliable ones.

The data from the memory card will be deleted! Don't forget to transfer them to another storage medium.

    Method 1 – via smartphone

Download from the Market special program"ROM Manager". Launch it and find the option “Create partitions on SD card”. Select ext partition size. If necessary, also select a size for the swap partition. HTC Desire V will reboot and create the partition.

    Method 2 - via computer

Download and install any of the programs for working with partitions on your hard drive. Remove all partitions from the memory card and create the following (do not change the sequence):

    1. main section ( file system FAT32);
    2. if needed - swap partition (SWAP);
    3. ext partition 512 MB (file system Ext 3 or Ext 4).
